Beware of TV bargains on Black Friday
Would it still be Black Friday without the cheap HDTVs? Nearly every major store including some, like Kohl's, that don't even typically sell TVs will be offering flat-panel displays at rock-bottom prices this week, all in an attempt to aggressively court bargain hunters. Though the deals may appear enticing (who doesn't want a 32-inch flat-panel for less than $100?), buyers are better off saving their money for a different day. More often than not, the TVs sold on Black Friday are flawed in some major way; given how much time the average American spends watching TV, consumers shouldn't waste their money on Black Friday TV "bargains."

Advisors' Opinion:- [By WALLSTCHEATSHEET.COM]
CVS Caremark provides valuable health care and pharmacy products and services to many consumers in the United States. The stock has been on a powerful move higher but is now digesting gains from a recent run. Over the last four quarters, earnings and revenue figures have increased for the company, but investors seem to have had mixed feelings about the reports. Relative to its peers and sector, CVS Caremark has been an average performer year-to-date. Look for CVS Caremark to OUTPERFORM.

In response to the outrage at highlighting a terrorist instead of his victims, including 26-year-old MIT cop Sean Collier, who was killed in the shootout between the Tsarnaev brothers and the police, and 8-year-old Martin Richard, who was standing next to one of the bombs when it detonated, retailers including CVS Caremark (NYSE: CVS ) , which operates 7,300 stores nationwide, Walgreen (NYSE: WAG ) , with more than 8,500 stores, and Sears Holdings (NASDAQ: SHLD ) chain Kmart have all decided not to sell the new issue of the magazine.

The right prescription for growth
The first CVS (NYSE: CVS ) opened in Lowell, Mass., on May 8, 1963. It was initially known as "Consumer Value Stores," hence the CVS acronym, and was a health and beauty retail chain until 1968, when the first pharmacy departments popped up in some of the company's 40 locations. That same year, the Melville Corporation (a leading shoe retailer) acquired CVS, which made the drugstore chain only a small part of a very large retail organization. In 1974, CVS made up less than 15% of Melville's total sales, despite operating over 200 stores, of which 45 contained pharmacy departments. - [By Kelley Wright]

Fisher reduced its stake in lots of companies, including Capstone Turbine (NASDAQ: CPST ) and Nokia (NYSE: NOK ) . Capstone is a smallish company, making low-emission microturbines used in power generation. Its top line has been growing by double digits over the past few years, and it's poised to profit from huge interest in shale oil, but it remains in the red. Still, it has recently announced a bunch of promising deals and some think the many folks short the stock will end up burned.

On Thursday, Capstone Turbine (NASDAQ: CPST ) will release its latest quarterly results. But lately, investors have already anticipated some huge results from the company, having bid the shares up by about 50% in just the past several weeks. Can Capstone deliver on what investors want to see?
- [By Tyler Crowe]
But to focus simply on renewables for distributed power would do some other parts of the industry a disservice, because companies such as Capstone Turbine (NASDAQ: CPST ) are proving that localized generation of natural gas can be just as efficient as a big centralized utility plant. This one-two punch of renewable power as the primary energy source with localized natural gas generation as a backup for when solar or wind can't generate power could be a big threat to the utilities sector.

Finally, we are bearish on CRM in the near term and mixed in the long term. We recently published a long-term outlook on CRM with a Hold rating. We do see the company as quite overvalued in the sense of future P/E, which stands at 66. Further, we believe that the company will see rising competition from the likes of Oracle (ORCL) and IBM (IBM) who want a larger piece of the cloud network pie. In the near term, we believe CRM could see some pretty strong correcting with such large valuations, but in the long term, we do see CRM as being a much better potential play than some other cloud networking companies. CRM will likely see a hit if the market corrects as investors abandon high growth names during market corrections. Further, CRM cannot make any mistakes moving forward to continue to maintain that P/E ratio.

If there is a reason I hear a lot for investing in IBM (IBM) nowadays, it is the popular 'argument from authority' fallacy: "Warren Buffett owns 67 million shares. Therefore I should own the stock."

Before we hit the Dow losers, let's look at the index's big winner of the week: Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ ) . Shares of Meg Whitman's turnaround project rose 13.82% this past week after the company released quarterly earnings. The company beat expectations on both the top revenue line and the bottom profit line despite a 10% drop in sales. But the real reason shares popped is that Whitman is doing what she promised investors she'd do, which is turn the company around and make it less reliant on the PC industry. She told analysts that the company, which is about 18 months into its five-year turnaround plan, is a little ahead of schedule with that turnaround, and that was something investors loved hearing.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Michael Lewis]
Where from here?
The stock pushed to new highs last week, and has seemed to stabilize above the $90 mark, giving it a forward P/E of 11.61 times. Now, the company is in much better shape and deserves higher valuation multiples than, say, J.C. Penney (NYSE: JCP ) , which has negative earnings but trades at just 0.32 times sales. But when comparing Dillard's to other, healthy department chains, such as Kohl's (NYSE: KSS ) , we see a more interesting picture. Kohl's trades at 10.7 times forward earnings, and while it saw lower same-store sales due to bad weather, the company still beat estimates and is set to grow via new stores. - [By Ben Levisohn]
Its strong day has also helped boost other retailers.Kohl(KSS), for instance, has gained 1.4% to $55.51, whileMacy(M) has risen 1.1% to $45.40. Sears Holdings(SHLD), however, has dropped 1% to $55.34.
